Ghost town wallpaper tells a story of life in the early days at these towns. It was often used to cover the cracks between logs or rough-cut boards, so design might not have been important to some people. Therefore, newspaper was sometimes used. Several layers were often applied, so that as it peeled abstract designs were created. We counted 12 layers on one wall in Bannack, Montana.
