Abandoned Bar sign stored in a barn in Thompson Springs, Utah
Thompson Springs started in the late 19th century as a station stop on the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad.  It was a community center for local ranchers, and later a shipping point for area coal mines.  The town died when it was bypassed by I-70.
