The wreck of the Mary D. Hume, Gold Beach, Oregon
The Mary D. Hume was originally a schooner built in 1881, used to haul goods between San Francisco and Oregon. She was later used as a whaler in Alaska, and as a tugboat. In the 1970's she was the oldest commercial vessel still in use on the Pacific coast. After retirement, efforts to restore her failed.
