GRAND CANYON, ARIZONA
The Colorado River eroded the Colorado Plateau as it was uplifted. This exposed about two billion years of the earth's geologic history, crating a canyon 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and more than a mile deep. These photos were all taken within Grand Canyon National Park on both the north and south rims.
