Exhumed Chinese graves at Leesburg, Idaho cemetery
Chinese miners graves were dug up and their bones returned to China for reburial. Gold was discovered here in 1866 and Leesburg grew to about 2000 people. By 1895 there were just 50 or 60 people here and most of the miners were Chinese. Now it is a ghost town.
The sign is from the Florence, Idaho cemetery (previous page), but I used it here because the graves were easier to see in Leesburg.
